Welcome to a GA mini-tour which celebrates the iconic railway route known as "The Orient Express".

The original "Orient Express", long distance passenger train service, was introduced in 1883 by a Belgian company, Wagon-Lits. However, there have been at least 5 different routes using that name in the period since.
This Tour is derived from the "Arlberg-Orient-Express 1930-1939, 1945-62" 

Note: Istanbul (aka Constantinople) has been appended to the plan as a nod to the original routes which terninated there instead of Athens.
There have been many films, TV programs and books featuring this route; perhaps the most famous being "Murder on the Orient Express" by Agetha Christie and , of course ITV's "Poirot" adaptation of the same.
